Carol McGlogan, President & CEO
416-230-0914 – Carol leads the association in its efforts to impact, influence and support the electrical industry in Canada. She most recently served as Director of Marketing at Philips Lighting, where she was responsible for Canadian strategy development and providing input into the North American lighting strategy for all products. Carol has served as past Chair of the EFC Board (2006) and as past Chair of the (former) Supply & Distribution Council (2002). She has also been an active participant on numerous EFC committees.
Susan Adler, Manager, Quebec Region
438-870-8727 – As Manager, Quebec Region, Susan is responsible for supporting EFC programs and services within the association’s Quebec region, as managing all initiatives for the Canadian Electrical Manufacturers Representatives Association (CEMRA).
Anne Harrigan, VP, Marketing Resources
416-716-1897 – After graduating from York University with an Honours BA in Economics, Anne Harrigan joined the Electronic Manufacturers Association of Canada in 1987 as a statistical clerk. In the merger with CEDA in 1995, Anne assumed the role of Manager, Statistical Services for EFC. As the depth and complexity of the statistical department continued to grow and expand, Anne was appointed Vice President, Marketing Resource in 1999 to oversee the entire statistical operations for all councils within EFC.
John Jefkins, VP, Marketing and Communications
647-459-2376 – John delivers innovative and integrated marketing and communication strategy and results across a wide range of cause-related and corporate sectors. A relationship builder, who demonstrates a collaborative and consultative leadership style, John has provided consulting and project management to organizations such as Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario, Sheridan Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning, Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and Cogeco Cable Solutions. In addition, John has a unique combination of marketing experience in the corporate, not-for-profit and government sectors. John has held senior positions with Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, Bell Mobility, Foster Parents Plan, The Arthritis Society, Ministry of Government Services (ServiceOntario) and Ontario Centres of Excellence. In addition, John started his career working at leading advertising and direct response agencies.
Maryna Kalnoochenko, Sr. Database Administrator & IT Manager
416-892-7999 – Maryna has over 15 years of progressive experience in Information Technology. She joined EFC in 2000 as a Programmer and has transitioned to become Sr. Database Admin and IT Manager. Maryna holds a Computer Science Specialist’s Degree in Information Technology from Ukraine. Maryna manages and maintains all business systems for EFC, including networks, servers, software applications and telecommunications services. Maryna also oversees all IT-related enquiries and remains the main contact for all confidential statistical website users.
Nathalie Lajoie, Director National Events
647-461-2046 – Nathalie has over 20 years experience in event management. Her areas of expertise at EFC include leading the association’s training and education programs, networking events—including the electrical industry’s premier conference—and securing sponsorship recruitment. Nathalie also acts as a liaison with Canadian Electrical Leagues and Regions, and helps steer the EFC Foundation Scholarship Committee. Nathalie joined EFC in 1999 as a Program Coordinator and shortly after, was promoted to Manager of Conferences & Special Projects. Prior to EFC, Nathalie worked at Humber College Business & Industry Services, where she led conferences, seminars and tradeshows. Nathalie’s education background is as varied as her skills, having studied Project Management, Volunteer Management, Fashion Arts and Interior Design at local metro colleges.
Philip Lefrancq, CGA. VP, Finance and Administration
647-459-2357 – Philip is a Certified General Accountant and holds a bachelor’s degree in Applied Economics from Belgium, he is bilingual. Prior to joining Electro-Federation in 1995, Philip was Controller at COPEL, Canada’s largest electrical buying group. His career has spanned a number of financial management positions in manufacturing and banking. He has been a champion of electronic commerce and of the electrical Industry Data Warehouse. Philip is responsible for finance and administration at EFC and also provides financial management services to the Electrical Safety Foundation International Canada, the Canadian Anti-Counterfeiting Network, the Canadian Electrical Stewardship Association and CANENA.
Rick McCarten, VP, Operations
905-706-3703 – Rick has spent more than 30 years in the electrical market, most recently serving as Vice President of the past Supply & Distribution (S&D) Council. Rick has been instrumental in developing training, education, market research, and national and regional networking programs for the electrical market in Canada. Prior to this role, Rick managed the Ontario Electrical League. He spent eight years on the board for the National Association of Wholesale-Distributors (NAW) Research Foundation, during which time he assisted in the publication of over 50 books on the topic of distribution.
Swati Patel, Director, Research & Communications
416-319-3390 – Swati has over 15 years of progressive experience in marketing, public relations and corporate communications, and is responsible for developing communication and market research strategies to help advance the electrical industry in Canada. Swati regularly presents EFC’s market research studies to channel partners across Canada. She is a founding member of EFC’s vibrant Young Professionals Network, a forum which allows young industry members to network, learn about market best practices and seek professional development opportunities. Prior to joining EFC, Swati worked at Astral Television Networks, DataMirror and InQuent Technologies. She holds a B.A. (Hon.) in English from York University and a B.Ed. from the University of Toronto.
Rob McIntyre, VP Technical Services
437-349-0426 – With over 30 years in the electrical industry Rob brings a broad range of experience to EFC. His career began with Ontario Hydro in business systems, planning and technical positions in Nuclear Division. Later as Utility Account Manager, he provided regulatory liaison with Municipal Electric Utilities in such matters as rates, finance, operations and energy services. This was followed by nearly two decades of service at Rockwell Automation where he held senior positions as Engineering, Business Manager. As well he has served on various CSA, IEC and IEEE standards committees and the Electrical Equipment Manufacturers Policy Advisory Committee. Rob is a Chartered Professional Accountant.
