Brisette Lucas
Vice President, Government Relations & Policy & Chief Privacy Officer 

Brisette leads and coordinates EFC’s government relations and public policy initiatives in Canada. Her duties include setting policy strategy, driving EFC-member government relations priorities, steering the EFC Government Relations Committee, as well as monitoring and advising on Canadian federal and provincial policy and regulatory issues. Brisette also represents EFC before federal and provincial institutions at senior levels, and interacts with all relevant members and other key stakeholders.

The EFC GR Committee is comprised of a team of talented individuals representing a broad base of EFC member companies. Members of the Committee include Morgan Elliott (RIM), serving as Chair, Veso Sobot (IPEX Electrical), serving as Co-Chair, Elaine Gerrie (Gerrie Electric Wholesale Limited), Bill Hammond (Hammond Power Solutions Inc.), Dave Sharpe (Rockwell Automation Canada Inc.), Vladimir V. Gagachev (Eaton), Eric Schmidt (Southwire Canada Company), Ross Hornby (GE Canada), and Ross Robinson (BA Robinson Company Limited).

EFC’s Government Relations plan was approved by the EFC Board in December 2011.  The primary objectives identified by EFC member companies for 2012 – 2014 include:

  1. Promote harmonization of EE regulations, electrical product certification, and codes & standards across North America.
  2. Promote product and electrical safety (CCPSA, ESFI).
  3. Promote intellectual property rights (anti-counterfeiting measures, ensuring CR Act amendments are fair and meet its stated objective, patent reform).
  4. Promote perimeter and trade agreements.
