• Representing member interests in the establishment of product standards (CSA / CUL / SCC) and to ensure the harmonization of North American standards.

• Advocating for the safe removal of mercury, CFCs and other ozone-depleting substances from older appliances.  
• Representation before government on environmental legislation and assisting members in the development of a strategy to manage the recycling and safe disposal of appliance product packaging and appliance products.  
• Identifying and communicating issues that may affect a member's ability to conduct business in Canada.
