Government Relations

Government relations are an important part of Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) membership. The Consumer Electronics Marketers of Canada (CEMC) is also committed to aiding the economic well-being of the consumer electronics industry through representation before both federal and provincial governments on a wide variety of issues. Top issues include the environment and environmental legislation, copyright legislation and the introduction of new products.

Environment

The introduction of product stewardship programs and environmental legislation across the provinces has CEMC taking a larger role before governments to address the issue of the safe recycling of consumer electronics.

Due to the importance of this issue, Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) stepped forward in a joint effort with the Information Technology Association of Canada (ITAC) to create a separate organization to address it.

Electronics Product Stewardship Canada (EPSC)

EPSC is a not-for-profit organization working with an array of partners and stakeholders to design, promote and implement sustainable solutions for Canada's electronic waste problem. For more information, visit the EPSC Website at www.epsc.ca.
