EFC is dedicated to helping members protect their brands by promoting electrical safety through codes and standards and by taking an active role in detecting and removing unsafe and counterfeit products from the market. To this end, EFC has formed a high-profile task force that includes executives from leading electrical companies in Canada. This group represents the electrical industry by working closely with key stakeholders (CSA, UL, provincial regulators, and others) to improve policies and practices for the contravention of unsafe and counterfeit products. The task force includes the following organizations:

This one-stop Web resource promotes electrical safety by offering the latest anti-counterfeiting information and providing valuable direction on the measures you can take to help mitigate the risks caused by unsafe and counterfeit products.

Take action! Now you can report a suspected counterfeit or unsafe product by following three fast and easy steps:

1. Complete and submit the Product Incident Report

To ensure your report is examined by the appropriate stakeholder in a timely manner, it’s important that you provide a complete and accurate account of the incident in your report.  

2. Your report will be sent by EFC to the appropriate authority for investigation.

3. EFC will regularly follow up with the authority to monitor progress and action.
