IMR carries out activities that contribute to the growth and success of businesses including development of qualified workers, providing labour market information, regulations, best practices for the purpose of improving the quality of service which in turn increases a positive public image of the service industry within Canada.
The Installation, Maintenance and Repair Sector Council and Trade Association (IMR), a division of Electro-Federation Canada (EFC), represents manufacturers, importers, distributors, and large retailers that have national service responsibility for consumer electronic and major appliance products they manufacture, import or sell.
The Canadian electronic and appliance service industry is an important segment of the national economy. It employs thousands of technicians, parts personnel, managers and a host of other support staff. The industry carries out installation, maintenance and repair of consumer electronic and major appliance products.
