Government Relations
Government relations are an important part of Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) membership. The Canadian Appliance Manufacturers Association (CAMA) is also committed to aiding the economic well-being of the appliance industry through representation beforeboth federal and provincial governments on a wide variety of issues.
Top issues include the environment and environmental legislation, energy efficiency and product standards.
IMR Sector Council
As the human resources arm of the Canadian consumer electronic and appliance service industry, the Installation Maintenance & Repair (IMR) Sector Council's mandate is to to focus on resolving human resource challenges in the electronics and appliance service industries.
An affiliate of CEASA, IMR is performing a comprehensive study to develop a blueprint for a series of human resources initiatives and industry-wide solutions to current and future challenges facing the industry. The Sector Council is funded by the Government of Canada, Sector Council Program and by contributions from industry.

Environment
Electronics Product Stewardship Canada (EPSC) is a not-for-profit organization working with an array of partners and stakeholders to design, promote and implement sustainable solutions for Canada's electronic waste problem. For more information, visit the EPSC web site at www.epsc.ca.
This is a research paper commissioned by Natural Resources Canada and the Canadian Appliance Manufacturers Assocation (CAMA), also a division of Electro-Federation Canada, to gain a better understanding of the systems in place to manage the recovery and recycling of white goods (major home appliances) in Canada and to assess the energy savings and greenhouse gas emissions reductions attributable to white goods recycling.
