Last weekend while fishing in Northern Ontario, it is amazing to see the rapid change of seasons moving from summer to the stunning fall colours. It is wonderful to see how nature adapts with each season.
With the fall also brings opportunity as we move to the end of the calendar year and start the winter season.
We are entering an exciting fall season in the EFC Government Relations (GR) area. At a recent EFC Strategic Planning session, government relations and issues management were identified as key areas for our membership. Brisette Lucas who is championing this area is participating in the Canadian Exporters and Manufacturers Association (CMC) inaugural fall Manufacturing Days on the Hill in Ottawa on October 17-18. Brisette will participate in an engaging series of executive roundtable discussions on the future of manufacturing in Canada with Members of Parliament and senior staffers from all political parties along with senior bureaucrats and other key federal decision makers. Then on October 18th, CMC members will speak with one voice on the issues affecting manufacturers in Canada with key decision makers in Ottawa and how we can work together with the government to drive investment, create jobs and expand exports.
EFC will keep members updated on the outcomes of this fall GR initiative.
