EFC's Ottawa Day Conference

Tuesday, October 17, 2006 - Wednesday, October 18, 2006

Location: Conference - Fairmont Chateau Laurier Hotel; Dinner Reception: Rideau Club

Event Overview:
This event provides members with the opportunity to discuss issues as they relate to their business and work towards establishing relationships and the basis for future cooperation—a goal that is most important this year, with a new government in power. It is an opportunity to share your concerns and gain the government’s perspective on future policy goals. The message this year will focus on manufacturing competitiveness and the need for government to create fiscal policies that promote the competitiveness of Canadian manufacturers at home.

Other key topics that will be discussed are as follows:

  • Energy Efficiency
  • Smart Regulations

This year's speakers include:

Senator Hugh Segal (Tuesday, October 17, dinner reception, Rideau Club)

Pierre Poilivere, MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the President of the Treasury Board (Wednesday, October 18, breakfast reception, Fairmont Chateau Laurier)

Jason Kenney, MP, Parliamentary Secretary to the Prime Minister (Wednesday, October 18, lunch, Fairmont Chateau Laurier)
