Electricity has become the cornerstone of the Canadian economy and of Canadian life; the electrical industry is the conduit for the vibrant life we enjoy today and facilitates the possibilities that we all look forward to in the future. The electric power industry in Canada alone has assets of $148 billion (1997) and earns approximately $35 billion in annual revenue.
There is a whole world of opportunity in this stable industry. The electrical industry encompasses all people and companies with an interest in the manufacturing, distributing, selling or installation of electrical products. It also includes the creation and distribution of electricity itself. Electro-Federation Canada represents over 300 member companies that manufacture, distribute, and service electrical, electronics, and telecommunications products; contributing over $50 billion to the Canadian economy and employing more than 130,000 workers in more than 1,400 facilities across Canada.
