Update: Refreshed Business Section Operating Procedures Approved
EFC’s Business Sections have implemented refreshed Operating Procedures that were approved by the EFC Board of Directors on November 27, 2025, and came into effect on that day.
These updates are the result of extensive work throughout 2025 to strengthen how Business Sections operate, collaborate, align priorities, and address technical and regulatory issues that affect our industry. The changes are designed to support stronger coordination and more informed decision-making.
What’s changing?
One of the most significant updates is the replacement of the former EFC’s Technical Advisory Committee (ETAC) with a new Strategic Advisory Council (SAC). The SAC brings together the Chairs and Vice Chairs of each Business Section to focus on governance, operational alignment, and shared priorities across Sections.
In addition, two new advisory committees have been established to bring focused expertise and informed decision making to issues that span multiple Business Sections:
Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
The TAC provides technical expertise related to codes, standards, and emerging technologies that may impact more than one Business Section. It supports coordinated approaches to technical strategy and standards development across EFC.
Regulatory Advisory Committee (RAC)
The RAC focuses on regulatory and compliance matters with cross-section impacts. It supports alignment in regulatory interpretation, coordinated industry responses, and strategic guidance on regulatory developments.
Together, TAC and RAC help ensure that technical and regulatory perspectives are well-informed, consistent, and aligned across Business Sections, benefiting the broader membership.
What’s next?
EFC will be hosting an information webinar for Business Section members. Additional details on the TAC and RAC, including a call for participation, were shared with all Business Section participants.
Thank you for your continued engagement and support as EFC evolves its governance and advisory structures to better serve our members and the industry.
