National YPN Day Across the Regions
This month YPN regions in Atlantic, Ontario, and Quebec are celebrating their National YPN Day, recognizing the electrical industry’s tenacious, creative, and driven young professionals through in-person events that foster the GIVE and GATHER strategic pillars of the network.
YPN Ontario
National YPN Day was celebrated by the Ontario region on June 16th in EFC’s parking lot. The YPN Ontario region, led by chair Peter Mackie, Ideal Supply, and vice chair, Nicole Griffo, Stanpro, hosted a “Party in the Parking Lot” event. Over 45 attendees took part in the celebration, which included an ax throwing competition (Congratulations to Matt Letvenuk, Shawcor, for winning the Yeti chair sponsored by Ideal Supply), an archery game, live music by YPN, Michael Magliano, S and C Electric, a Food Truck, prizes, and more donations were pouring in. The YPN Ontario region committee is grateful for the big hearts our members continue to display. The Give Food Drive campaign raised $3155 in cash and 1830 pounds of food and household supplies. YPN Quebec
The Quebec Region YPN committee, led by chair Amelie Cyr-Lapointe, Westburne, and Vice Chair Marcos Simard, Wesco, hosted an in-person fundraising lunch event on June 15th . The young professionals who attended enjoyed some much-needed networking and a delicious lunch from a food truck La Confrérie. There were also some fun raffle prizes, with proceeds going to the charity of choice for this year’s Quebec Region National YPN Day. A total of $1,455 was donated to the Ukraine Humanitarian Crisis Appeal by the Canadian Red Cross. Thank you to all members who took part in this event, and for helping with this fundraising campaign.
