Closing Out 2025 Together

Message from EFC President & CEO Carol McGlogan

As 2025 comes to a close, it is a time to reflect on a year that tested the electrical industry while reinforcing its importance to Canada’s future. This past year also marked EFC’s 30th anniversary, offering an opportunity to recognize the progress achieved through collaboration and the strength of our member community.

Throughout the year, members across the country navigated evolving market conditions, trade uncertainty, and increasing demands on electrical infrastructure. Shifting policy environments and economic pressures required businesses to reassess strategies while continuing to deliver reliable solutions to customers. The industry responded with resilience, adaptability, and a strong willingness to share insight across the value chain.

Engagement across EFC’s networks remained strong in 2025. Members came together through conferences, regional events, committees, and working groups to exchange perspectives, address common challenges, and strengthen relationships. These connections remain one of the industry’s most valuable assets, particularly during periods of change.

EFC’s work throughout the year reflected member priorities. Advocacy efforts focused on ensuring industry perspectives were represented in discussions related to electrification, infrastructure readiness, and trade. Collaboration with other organizations helped strengthen industry alignment and reinforce the importance of practical, coordinated approaches to policy and implementation.

Business intelligence and market insight continued to support members in navigating uncertainty by informing planning and decision-making. Workforce development remains a critical long-term consideration for the industry, and continued attention will be required to support future growth and capacity.

As we close the chapter on our 30th anniversary year, it is clear that the challenges ahead will require continued coordination across the electrical supply chain. The opportunities are significant, and progress will depend on working together with clarity and purpose.

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the EFC team, thank you for your engagement, leadership, and trust throughout 2025. We look ahead to 2026 with focus and optimism as we continue working together to support a strong and competitive electrical industry.

Wishing you a safe and restful holiday season and every success in the year ahead.
