EFC 2022 Industry Recognition Award Recipient: Mark Schroeder, Industry Leader

At this year’s Industry Conference in Whistler, BC, Mark Schroeder, a retiree from Rockwell Automation, was named the EFC 2022 Industry Recognition Award recipient. The IRA is EFC’s longest-standing award, presented annually to an individual who has influenced the Canadian electrical industry, either as a current or retired industry delegate or as an industry supporter. Award recipients demonstrate strong leadership through their personal and professional industry involvement and symbolize dedication, balance, and achievement in regional, national, or community activities.

Mark Schroeder’s sales career began in 1979 at Allen-Bradley, later Rockwell Automation, as an account manager in Edmonton, before moving to district sales manager in Ontario. Before his retirement, Mark worked as Manager, North America Channels at Rockwell Automation.

Inspired by Rockwell Automation’s leadership and wanting to give back to the electrical industry, a place that has given him a thriving career, Mark has dedicated his time and shared his experience and knowledge by actively participating in the EFC community. Mark has participated in a variety of different committees and networks, including a competency development committee, and as chair of both NAC and the EFC Board of Directors. Mr. Schroeder has been part of the journey in sustaining the industry into the future and has built long-lasting relationships along the way. The award was presented to Mark Schroeder by Kevin Mallory, Hubbell Canada, a long-time industry colleague, and friend. We thank Mark for his lifelong contributions to the Canadian electrical community.

We asked Mark what this award means to him. He stated, “I’m very honoured and humbled to be this year’s recipient of the Industry Recognition Award. The fact that industry leaders saw the value in my industry effort, and decided to select me for this award, makes receiving the Industry Recognition Award even more special.”

Nominating a company or individual for their hard work and successful accomplishments builds our community to grow, lead and compete in an ever-changing world. Recognition can breed success.
