EFC Welcomes Geoffrey Pereira as Senior Data Analyst

Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) is pleased to announce that Geoffrey Pereira has joined the team as Senior Data Analyst and will report directly to Carol McGlogan, President & CEO, and Anne Harrigan, VP, Marketing Resource. Geoffrey’s role was effective on September 26, 2022.

Geoffrey will work with the statistics department to assist member companies in Canada’s electrical and automation industry with data analytics to deliver insights to support critical decision-making. Geoffrey will be responsible for acquiring data from primary and secondary sources and preparing reports and presentations to communicate business insights for forecasting market trends to members.

Geoffrey joins us from Growth from Knowledge (GFK) in the UAE, where he has worked with the Analytics & Data Science team, developing automation processes, dashboards, and visualization reports to provide in-depth insights to clients. During his extensive experience of over nine years working with leading Global Market Research & Business Intelligence firms, Geoffrey has showcased his entrepreneurial spirit and innovative thinking and played a key role in process simplification, improving efficiency, and optimizing team productivity. He also holds a post-graduate diploma in Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence from the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore.

Dennis Potharst Appointed to Communications & Atlantic Region Program Manager

Dennis Potharst has been appointed EFC’s Communications & Atlantic Region Manager to strengthen and grow regional programming and further support national communications, effective September 26, 2022.

Dennis has been a driving force in the Atlantic region. His empathetic nature and strong leadership skills are making great strides for the region. He has led many successful events in the region, taken over the Habitat national marketing, which is close to reaching $250K, and is responsible for the highly viewed weekly InfoElectro newsletter. Dennis will continue reporting to Daniela De Marco, Marketing Manager, in this expanded role. He will be responsible for managing and growing the Atlantic region activities and programs, along with taking a leading role in various national committees. He has recently become the team lead for the National YPN committee.

Based in Halifax, Dennis has strong marketing and event programming experience that have come to serve as a valuable addition to the regional group and EFC team. Committed to continuous learning, he maintains membership with the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC), a global community of communication professionals. Dennis is also an active community member, volunteering his time as a board member with the Canadian Stuttering Association, Parkinson Society of Nova Scotia, and the Prostate Cancer Canada Atlantic Region Advisory Council.
