Ontario Gala Night: ‘A Taste of Italy’
On Friday, February 7, EFC members and their guests came together for the 12th Annual Ontario Region Gala Night. Hosted at the Marriott Hotel in Toronto, a record-breaking 343 guests were in attendance, the largest number of attendees in EFC’s history. A replica 1964, red shiny Vespa was on display as guests arrived to set the event theme ‘A Taste of Italy.’ Attendees enjoyed everything from a 6-course Italian meal, an accordion and guitarist duo to the Slime Dogs (Cani Melma) live band, foosball table, casino, and an inflatable soccer kick-off game.
A special thank you to Ontario Region Executive committee member, Antonio DeCicco, Intermatic, who emceed the evening alongside, Zack Cvitak, Prysmian Group, and Ontario Vice-Chair, Mike Smith, Ideal Supply.
The gala also included a change of the gavel for the Ontario Region chairmanship. A certificate of appreciation and donation to the Heart & Stroke was presented to Zack Cvitak. Following this presentation, the gavel was handed to Mike Smith, EFC’s 2020/2022 Ontario Region Chair.
The evening continued with a midnight pizza table sponsored by EFC’s Young Professionals Network.
Nathalie Lajoie, Director of National Events, was pleased with the record turnout of this Annual Gala, which saw a 10% increase in attendees. The Ontario Region Gala continues to gain tremendous momentum, providing invaluable networking opportunities for industry members. There was a lot of hours and logistical detailing that went into this event. We thank the committee for playing an instrumental role in its success.
