EFC Atlantic Region Congratulates Family Scholarship Winners

Thank you to all candidates who applied for the 2022 EFC Atlantic Region Family Scholarship Program.

We are pleased to announce the two winners of a $1,000 award each: Peyton Fougere and Samara Savoie. Congratulations!

Peyton Fougere

Peyton Fougere

Entering her first year at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Peyton is enrolled in the Bachelor of Commerce program. With an interest in accounting and marketing, she is excited to explore a career in business and management. Aside from her studies, Peyton also works part-time and enjoys spending time with friends. She adds winning the EFC Atlantic Region Family Scholarship award felt great as paying for university costs was a new experience to her. “Having some of the costs lifted off your shoulders and getting some extra help is great,” Peyton said. “I got the opportunity to earn something and it makes me want to work harder.”

Samara Savoie

Samara Savoie

Originally from Moncton, New Brunswick, Samara is entering her first year in the Faculty of Engineering at Dalhousie University. With a natural interest in math and science, she was drawn to engineering as a career path from an early age. Outside of school, Samara held a job and also competed and coached baton twirling with Club Baton Atlantik for nearly 10 years. Samara says winning the EFC Atlantic Region Family Scholarship means a lot as her goal was to attend Dalhousie to study. “I really wanted to come to Dal as it was my school of choice but I knew it was expensive,” she says. “I worked as hard as I could but the scholarship really helped me as it makes it less stressful as I can focus on my school.”

Thank you to all nominees and we wish you a successful school year ahead!
